high rise

The construction of our new office building is humming along nicely. We recently celebrated the pouring of the concrete floors and, as with the raising of the beam event a few months ago, the staff had an opportunity to walk up to each of the three floors. It was a great way to check out our future office space and take in the view.

This picture of the southwest corner of the building was shot at the earlier event:

The photos in the last two posts were taken at the most recent event. It was a neat experience to walk through the building in its skeletal state, but I’ll admit that I had to muster a bit of nerve to handle the climb up and down the makeshift stairs. It’s not that I’m afraid of heights so much as I’m just afraid of falling from them. (Or, more specifically, I’m afraid of finding myself weirdly compelled to stand too close to the edge.)

Here are more pictures from my wanderings on the third floor:

I gladly kept at least ten feet between me and those two tiny little wires.

I don’t think I recognize the background. Where are they building your new office?

What you are seeing is the back of the residential streets just off of Imperial and the river (creek) that runs through (by) it.
