the return from elsewhere
Due to a combination of heckling from my fan(s), mild concern over my whereabouts, and guilt over my failure to “post three times a week” per my new year’s resolutions list, I have returned to say I’m alive, I’m doing well, and I’m busy - lazy - distracted (take your pick).
Regretfully, I didn’t come out of hibernation in time to mourn the passing of winter. I’m a big fan of winter; it’s my second favorite season of the year, inspiring many a melancholy gaze into the distances of time and of space, a frightfully ruddy complexion that cannot be tamed by cosmetics, and a light malaise that I wrap around me like a favorite scarf. Oh winter, I will think of you fondly as the polar ice caps melt this summer and I am forced to relocate to the deserts of Imperial Valley.
